Brampton/Cobourg Trade in Major Series Lacrosse
Cobourg Kodiaks have acquired Brandon Robinson and a second round pick in the 2019 MSL draft from Brampton Excelsiors for Joel Coyle.
Cobourg General Manager John Webb noted, "At 6'3" and 210 lbs., Brandon Robinson is a big lefty from Pickering who is very mobile. He will be counted on to create space for players such as Chris Cloutier and Dan Lomas. We are excited to acquire Brandon and a draft pick." In his rookie MSL season with Brampton, Robinson accumulated 20 points including 7 goals in 12 games.
Brampton veteran General Manager Zeny Lipinski acknowledged the Excelsiors would miss Robinson and commented "We are adding a quality back door player in Joel Coyle who well help fill the void left by the injury to Matthew Bennett who is out for the year with a torn MCL . At 5'11" weighing 175 lbs, Coyle is a graduate of the Orangeville Northmen Junior "A" team who saw limited action during the 2017 MSL season. Lipinski added, "Cobourg is receiving a big bodied offensive player in Brandon Robinson, that I believe will turn in to a quality lacrosse player in both the MSL as well as the NLL. This is a trade that is good for both teams."
