Brooklin LC sweep Excelsiors

Austin Shanks scored three goals and four assists, while Dawson Theede added a hat trick to lead Brooklin Lacrosse Club to a 13-4 win over the Brampton Excelsiors at home.

The win gives BLC a 3-0 sweep in the best-of-five MSL quarter-final series.

After Reed Kurtz scored the game's opening goal for the Excelsiors, BLC roared back with Shanks scoring a pair, followed by singles from Matt Hossack and Ryan Wagner.

Theede scored a pair and Dylan Robinson added one goal, before Mark VanSchepen stopped the BLC run for the visitors. Theede scored his third of the period, with Shanks and Jackson Raposo adding to the BLC lead.

Luke Keenan, Liam Osborne and Brady Kearnan all scored for BLC in the third period, while Jeremy Searle and VanSchepen replied for the Excelsiors.

Zack Higgins got the win between the pipes making 37 stops. Caleb Slinger stopped 49 shots for the Excelsiors.
