Haigh nets OT winner to give Kodiaks a 2-1 series lead

Gareth Haigh's second goal of the game proved to be the winner, as the Cobourg Kodiaks defeated the Oakville Rock 8-7 in overtime Sunday in Port Hope.
With the win, the Kodiaks take a 2-1 lead in the best-of-five MSL quarter-final series.
Haigh bookended the game's scoring, with the first of the game early in the opening frame. Curtis Romancych and Brock Haley added to the lead. Ryan Lanchbury stopped the Kodiaks' run, before Nathan Grenon responded.
David Anderson added to the lead early in the second period, before the Rock went on a run to claw themselves back into the game. Lanchbury, Marley Angus and Sheldon Burns got the Rock within a goal heading into the third period.
Andrew Kew and Nick Ellerton exchanged goals in the early going of the third period, before Luke Robinson and Mike McCannell gave the Rock a lead. Aaron Woods scored with just under eight minutes to go in regulation to force overtime.
Steve Orleman made 55 saves to earn the win between the Kodiaks pipes, while Nick Rose was forced to make 66 stops.
