Hoggarth leads charge for Lakers in Game 1
Thomas Hoggarth scored three goals and added two assists, to lead the Peterborough Lakers to a 12-5 win over the Owen Sound North Stars in Game 1 of their best-of-five MSL quarter-final.
The Lakers jumped out to a lead thanks to Rob Hellyer, Turner Evans, and Hoggarth. Jackson Wester had the lone response for the visiting North Stars.
In the second period, the Lakers dominated, scoring seven unanswered goals. Hoggarth led the way with a pair of goals, while Hellyer, Owen Hiltz, Evans, Austin Hasen, and Dylan Hutchison added one each.
The North Stars pushed back in the third period thanks to Johnathan Pashko, Tanner Buck, and Webster. Joe Resetarits and Colton Armstrong replied for the Lakers, before Wenster scored his third of the game for the North Stars.
Doug Buchan made 39 saves to earn the win, while Kaleb Martin and Ethan Woods shared the goaltending duties down at the other end.
