The Owen Sound North Stars poked a bear, and on Sunday, the Cobourg Kodiaks handed their new rivals a 14-9 defeat at home with David Anderson and Aaron Woods leading the way with three goals each.
The Kodiaks got off to a great start thanks to Woods, Justin Skyes and Braedon Saris striking first. The North Stars pushed back with a pair from Johnathan Peshko, while Jamie Hunt and Tyler Brown added singles. Scott Dominey stopped the North Stars run, before Brown struck again for the visitors.
But in the second period it was all Kodiaks. Skyes, Woods, Brock Haley, Stone Jacobs, and Anderson all scored to give the Kodiaks a lead. Nathan Grenon, Woods, and Doug Utting all scored for the Kodiaks, with Anderson leading the charge with a pair. Jackson Webster responded three times for the North Stars, with Josh Toguri adding one.
Steve Orleman got the win between the pipes, while Kaleb Martin took the loss.
