Rock hold serve at home against Kodiaks

The Oakville Rock got three goals from Josh Dawick, while Andrew Kew had a pair and six assists to defeat the Cobourg Kodiaks 10-8 at home.

The best-of-five MSL quarter-final series is now tied 1-1.

In the first period, the teams exchanged blows. Ryan Lanchbury scored once for the Rock, while Dawick netted a pair. Braedon Saris, David Anderson, Scott Dominey, and Liam Patten gave the Kodiaks a lead after 20 minutes.

It was the Rock's turn to outscore its opponent in the second period. Kew, Tyler Hendrycks, Lanchbury, and Chris Weier netted goals for the home team, while Nathan Grenon responded twice for the Kodiaks.

Hendrycks, Dawick and Kew pulled the Rock ahead for good in the third period. Brock Haley and Aaron Woods scored for the Kodiaks.

Nick Rose made 48 saves to get the win between the pipes, while Steve Orleman was busy stopping 64 shots.
